Suspension – Nate 1, Rob Sakovich, Chris Stokes, Laurence Srinivasan and Heather Robinson

Open Studios Weekend 4 – Preview Party Nov 4, 6-9pm, Nov 5&6 11am-7pm

Secession Art & Design’s newest art collection, Suspension,  features five talented artists that are inspired by daily life.

Heather Robinson plays with acrylic paint and stencils to create colorful abstract art that makes every graffiti artist wonder how she got the drips to go against gravity. Old-school graffiti artist Nate 1 captures Mission Bernal in motion with spray paint. Rob Sakovich uses his spray cans to create urban windows that give a 360 to a small slice of SF. Chris Stokes realizes his urban vision through mixed media, collaging literary sources and symbols into an abstract scene that resembles a city neighborhood. Laurence Srinivasan is a model maker who takes the urban theme to a literal space, pouring every detail into his models of landmark structures made of wood and brass. The gallery brings all these together into a story of a changing city where art is alive and vibrant.
